Yu the great introduction
Yu the great was a ruler in the Xia dynasty (ancient china). He is mostly known for how he stopped the flood. Yu the great was a tradition kind of guy he passed on traditions from the emperor ephiet the great”later in his life Yu killed one of the northern leaders (Fang Feng) he did this to protect his position of the throne. Although he made stupid decisions he also made some wise decisions such as the nine provinces.
Yu’s personal life
Yu was apparently born at mount wen. Apparently Yu was gun’s 8th grandson and gun was the 5th grand son of Zhuanxu. Apparently Yu was raised on the slopes of Mount Song witch is south of the yellow river . Later he married a woman from MT Tu and had a child called Qi.
Yu and his relation to the nine provinces
The nine provinces this was a plan that Yu would divide the Chinese “empire” into nine provinces. These were Jinzhou, Yangzhou, Qing Zhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Jinzhou, Yuzhou, Liangzhou and Yangzhou.
Yu stopping the floods
The major thing Yu the great is famous for though is how he stopped the yellow river floods he would make barricades and place them in the main stream to stop the water flow. He used a different technique than his grandfather gun he would go to different villages in his dynasty and equip a bunch of volunteers to help. Yu would gain a bunch of royal people and peasants to help him put up the barricades. Luckily this technique worked better than gun’s attempt.
why yu was significant
yu was significant because of his work on the floods and his hard work even before he became an emperor . as i have displayed yu was a great many to not only himself but to his family and others around him .
